GORDON, Neb. – Two people were taken to the hospital Monday morning following a collision between a semi and a pickup in Gordon.

The crash happened around 8 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 20 and Cornell Street. According to the Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office, the initial investigation indicates that a semi pulling a grain trailer failed to yield and struck the pickup, which was headed west of Highway 20.

Both drivers were injured, but the sheriff says that the pickup driver suffered more serious injuries.

A diesel spill forced traffic to be rerouted away from the crash scene for around an hour and a half.
