North Platte man charged with 16 counts of child pornography
A North Platte man was charged with 16 counts of child pornography on Monday.

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - A North Platte man was charged with 16 counts of child pornography on Monday.
Caleb Smith, 29, appeared in Lincoln County District Court via zoom.
Court documents allege that Smith began talking to a 13-year-old girl on social media in November of 2024. Smith allegedly sent explicit pictures of himself to the girl and made plans to meet her to have sexual relations.
Smith pleaded not guilty to all 16 counts. His next status hearing is Nov. 3 at 1:30 p.m.
Smith is currently being held in Hall County Corrections where he also faces 30 enticement related charges in a separate case. His bond is set at $500,000.
