Two children killed in rural Adams County crash

GLENVIL, Neb. – Authorities say two children did not survive a two-vehicle crash in rural Adams County on Monday afternoon.
According to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene of a crash at the intersection of Saddlehorn Road and Riverview Avenue near Glenvil around 4:45 p.m.
Authorities have determined an eastbound pickup driven by 33-year-old Blake Whitcomb from Hastings, collided with a northbound farm silage truck driven by 66-year-old Dale Feik from Harvard.
Two children, ages seven and 10 that were in the eastbound pickup died at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
The drivers of both vehicles were taken to Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings.
The Nebraska State Patrol is conducting an accident reconstruction to determine further details.
ACSO said alcohol is not suspected to be a factor in the crash, and it's unknown if seatbelts or restraint were in use.
The Nebraska State Patrol, Hastings Rural Fire Department, Glenvil Fire and Rescue and Hastings Fire and Rescue assisted on scene.
