VALENTINE, Neb. - A major road construction project along West 4th Street in Valentine is now in its final phase.

The Nebraska Department of Transportation said phase four of the Highway 83 North project has started and is expected to be completed this fall.

Traffic will continue to run one lane at a time with countdown stoplights. Officials are urging drivers to expect delays, as the light cycle is longer to address safety concerns.

The final phase includes building the southbound lane between the Minnechaduza Creek bridge and Edna Street. Crews have already removed existing concrete, completed grading, and will soon begin placing a 9-inch doweled concrete road.
