SIDNEY – Emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash near Sidney High School Friday afternoon that temporarily blocked traffic.

The accident occurred at about 1:45 p.m. at 19th Avenue and Jackson Street involving an eastbound silver Ford Taurus on Jackson Street entering the intersection when it collided with a northbound dark gray Dodge Grand Caravan. The Taurus suffered front-end damage while the van sustained damage it's driver's side. 

Two ambulances were dispatched to treat minor injuries.

The Sidney Police Department and the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department responded to the scene and directed traffic while the intersection was blocked.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

It was the second two-vehicle accident emergency crews responded to on Friday. Earlier in the day, a crash at 7:48 a.m. at Fort Sidney Road and East Illinois Street closed part of U.S. 30 and sent at least one person to the hospital.
