DALTON – From goat roping and live music to cornhole and a parade, the Dalton Fall Festival brought in a lively crowd Saturday as residents and visitors gathered for the community’s annual celebration.

Cornhole and puzzle competitions, organized by committee member Whitney Armbruster, drew strong participation - even from travelers.

“I had a couple from Rapid City message me Friday wanting to get into the tournament, asking if they could bring their own bags. I was like, ‘Wow, we got some professionals on our hands,’” Armbruster said. “I got to meet them in person here and they travel all around to these tournaments. They saw this one was on their way to their destination in Colorado and swung by.”

This year’s lineup featured a mix of traditional activities and new attractions, including a goat roping event where 987 The Big Boy morning show host Hunter Arterburn twice failed to post a time. A movie at the Leyton High School football field and fireworks show also highlighted new events.

Kelsey Jo and the Wildcards closed Saturday's schedule with live music during a street dance at Dalton Park.
