Lady Longhorn Volleyball Team has winning record this season

KIMBALL -- The Lady Longhorn Volleyball Team has seen major improvement with a winning record so far this season.
“We haven't had a winning season in a very long time for volleyball,” said Activities Director Jaclyn Burks. “They have definitely improved, and they look really good, so we’re proud of their stride and how far they have come.”
Head Coach Jenna Enevoldsen said the varsity team is sitting at 10 wins vs. 8 losses so far this season, compared to last year when they only won 2 games.
The team has a lot more experienced players this year with six seniors versus last year's only having one.
“The girls’ hard work is finally paying off; it’s all been down to the girls have been dedicated to put in the extra time, they’ve been dedicated to make changes, and they’ve been dedicated to the team,” Enevoldsen said.
Senior player Hanna Kilgore recently accomplished a big goal of hers – hitting 1,000 career digs, which she is now sitting at 1,100 and may even make it to 1,200 this year.
“I don’t know if anyone in Kimball has reached that; it’s definitely one of those things that you almost have to be libero for 4 years straight to be able to reach it on a varsity level,” Enevoldsen said.
Libero is the back row defensive player, which Kilgore has played the position all through her high school career.
The team has 7 games left in the season including two more home games this week. They play against Morrill tomorrow and Sutherland on Friday.
