SIDNEY -- The Monthly Performance Award acknowledges other criteria as well as achievement.

These criteria are: 1. Superior academic performance, (or), dramatic improvement of classroom work, G.P.A. or attitude toward learning. 2. Exceptional work effort toward a particular class project. 3. Outstanding Contribution to the class. 4. Leadership exhibited in the class/school. 5. Citizenship emphasized and modeled. 6. Service to school.

The September Students of the Month were recognized at the October 13 board meeting.

7th Grade- Landon Mey: Landon Mey has an enthusiastic desire to accomplish the goals he sets for himself and he turns in quality work. He is a problem solver. When Landon shines, he gives others permission to shine. He works well individually and understands the value of teamwork. Landon is responsible, respectful, kind, and patient when encouraging others to do and be their best. Landon has an engaging smile and a quiet strength that inspires others to believe in themselves. Landon Mey is the son of Kristopher and Jennifer Mey.

8th Grade- Genesis Monroe-Martinez: The 8th grade team has chosen Genesis Monroe as the September 8th Grade student of the month. Genesis is a student that is very dedicated & committed to her studies. She takes thorough notes, turns in all her work in a timely manner, reaches out to her instructors in advance of an absence and expects the best from herself. She is very much involved in extracurricular activities that includes Cross Country & Student Council. She treats all of the teachers, staff and personnel with professionalism and respect as expected of an 8th grader. She is dedicated to her studies, thinks outside the box, comes up with different ways to solve problems and gets along with all of her classmates. Genesis is determined & motivated to succeed not just in school, but in life. We are excited to continue to work with you throughout the school year! Genesis is the daughter of Haley and Ciera Monroe.

9th Grade - Zach Roberts: Zach is a respectful, kind, and dedicated student who consistently leads by example. He puts forth exceptional effort in all of his classes and demonstrates a strong commitment to learning. As a natural leader among his peers, Zach fosters a positive classroom environment through his kindness, reliability, and willingness to support others. Zach is the son of Josh and Yvette Roberts

10th Grade -- Haven Hanley: Haven is an exceptional student who consistently produces high-quality work and brings fresh, thoughtful ideas to class discussions. She is kind and compassionate toward her peers, often taking the initiative to help classmates who are struggling. Her willingness to support others reflects both maturity and strong character. Outside the classroom, Haven is also involved in girls' golf, demonstrating her well-rounded commitment to both academics and extracurricular activities. Haven is the daughter of Clint and Daina Hanley.

11th Grade -- Rhys Dorcey: Rhys is a respectful and responsible student who consistently demonstrates strong academic habits. He completes his assignments on time and with care, and he actively contributes to classroom discussions with thoughtful insights and a genuine willingness to learn. His positive attitude, reliability, and consistent engagement make him an excellent candidate for this recognition Rhys is the son of Gabe and Renee Dorcey.

12th Grade -- Bryn Jones: Bryn is a dedicated and driven student who contributes meaningfully to the Sidney High School community both in and out of the classroom. A straight-A student, she is always prepared, organized and motivated to do her best. Her academic excellence is reflected in her high GPA, strong performance on assignments, and consistent placement on the SHS Honor Roll. Outside the classroom, Bryn is actively involved in the Fine & Performing Arts. She is a valued member of multiple groups, including Show Choir, Speech, and Play Production. For the past three years, she has served as the Backstage Manager for the Play Production team, a leadership role in which she ensures that performances run smoothly behind the scenes. Her dependability, attention to detail and calm under pressure have made her an indispensable part of the team. Bryn is the daughter of Shane and Jeremee Jones.
