SIDNEY -- Edgar Bear Runner has agreed to a plea agreement for reduced charges, according to court records.

He appeared before Judge Derek Weimer Tuesday for a Pre-trial Conference.

According to court records, Bear Runner, his attorney Don Miller and Cheyenne County Attorney Amber Horn Monday agreed to a plea agreement. The agreement is for Bear Runner to enter a guilty or no contest plea to one count of Attempted Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, a Class 2 Felony; Possession of a Stolen Firearm, a Class 2A Felony; and Flight to Avoid Arrest, a Class 4 Felony. 

Jury trial is scheduled for October 28-29 in Cheyenne County District Court. Sentencing is scheduled for November 11.

He was arrested April 29, 2025 with Richard Lee Martinez and Akicita Fast Horse following a pursuit involving Nebraska State Patrol and local law enforcement. 

He was taken into custody on four counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person, a Class 1D Felony; Possession of a Firearm while Committing a Felony, a Class 2 Felony; Possession or Receive Stolen Firearms, a Class 2A Felony; and Operating a Motor Vehicle to Avoid Arrest, a Class 4 Felony.
