Saucedo promoted to Deputy District Court Clerk
SIDNEY -- Two and half years in the District Court Office and Joelyann Saucedo has been promoted to Deputy Clerk of the District Court for Cheyenne County.
She took her oath of office before Judge Derek Weimer in an afternoon ceremony Wednesday.
"We've just promoted Joelyann to our new Deputy Clerk of the District Court. She's been instrumental in our success," said Cheyenne County District Court Clerk Mindy Wiegand.
She said Saucedo has assisted in improving efficiency within the District Court.
"We're one of the first courts across the state to go paperless. I believe that we are of the first District Courts to. Judge commented on those a little in his oath ceremony," she said.
Wiegand said Saucedo was instrumental in the research.
"We played devil's advocate together. We brain-stormed together, every possible scenario we figured it out. She was really one of the key points that made that such a success for us," she said.
Wiegand said Saucedo has well earned her new title. Saucedo said the new role is similar to what she does, and more.
"It's a lot of what I was doing, except I'm in charge of the Court of Appeals cases, so if we've got those that come in, a little more of the financial side of our office, and just keeping the office running in the absence of our Clerk Mindy," she said.
