Four injured in three-vehicle crash at Scottsbluff intersection
SCOTTSBLUFF — Four people were treated for minor injuries following a three-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Highway 26 and East 20th Street in Scottsbluff, according to the Scottsbluff Police Department.
Police said officers were called to the scene around 1 p.m. A preliminary investigation found that a 2015 Nissan Xterra, driven by 39-year-old Katie Weiland of Gering, entered the intersection from East 20th Street and failed to yield to a northwest-bound 2018 Honda Odyssey driven by 47-year-old Josue Gomez-Garza of Alliance.
The Odyssey struck the front end of the Xterra, which then collided with a 2017 Chevrolet Equinox stopped at the north corner of the intersection. The Equinox was driven by 53-year-old Trisha Clingan of Scottsbluff.
Police said both the Xterra and Equinox came to rest in a drainage ditch near the intersection.
All three vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene. The intersection was partially closed for about an hour during the investigation.
The Scottsbluff Fire Department and Regional West Ambulance Services assisted at the scene. Police said a citation is pending further investigation.
