GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - Charges have officially been filed against a man authorities say exchanged gunfire with them during a warrant search on Wednesday.

Justin Jelinek, 43, faces charges including attempted homicide, attempted assault, and multiple felony weapon counts.

The incident happened at Jelinek’s Grand Island home as authorities were serving a search warrant related to a child pornography investigation.

According to the Nebraska State Patrol, Jelinek fired a gun from inside the home, and a state trooper returned fire. No one was hit.

Authorities say Jelinek then barricaded himself inside the home for about 10 minutes before surrendering.

A search of the home turned up more than 20 firearms and over 5,000 rounds of ammunition, according to the State Patrol.

Jelinek is currently being held in the Hall County Jail. He faces charges of attempted homicide, attempted first degree assault, use of weapon to commit a felony, resisting arrest, and obstructing a peace officer.
