Johnson-Brock Battles to a Victory Over Lourdes Central Catholic in Playoff Primer

JOHNSON, NE - The Johnson-Brock Eagles dealt the Knights of Lourdes Central Catholic their second loss of the season on Thursday, 28-22, as heard on Otoe County Country. Both teams end the regular season at 6-2 with the playoffs on the horizon.
Each team scored eight points in the opening quarter & six points in the second frame, leaving the contest deadlocked at 14 when the first half came to a close. The Eagles held LCC off the scoreboard in the third quarter & took a 20-14 lead into the final stanza, and each team scored eight points in that last quarter for the final 28-22 score.
The Knights saw Callen Schnitzer struggle to connect with his wideouts, going 3/13 passing for just 43 yards and a score, but he did end up with 116 yards on 24 carries with another touchdown. Alec Schnitzer threw one pass, which got picked off by Brody Koehler. Alec ran the rock 11 times for 93 yards and a TD. Oscar Krog caught one ball for a 31-yard score, and Vance Poppleton had the Knights' takeaway with a fumble recovery.
The Eagles led the turnover battle, 2-1, with Quentin Behrends recovering a fumble. He also had a 24-yard TD grab. Koehler, who had the pick, piled up six catches for 60 yards. Hayden Gravatt piled up 141 yards on 21 carries with a score, and Wyatt Fulton had a good night at the QB spot. Fulton went 11/15 for 132 yards with a TD, and he ran it 16 times for 87 yards and two more TD's.
Johnson-Brock will host North Platte St. Patrick's Thursday at 4pm in the opening round of the Class D1 Playoffs. You can catch that game on B103. Lourdes Central Catholic will bring in Guardian Angels Central Catholic at 6:30pm Thursday, and that contest will be on Otoe County Country.
