Potter-Dix shuts out South Platte 51-0

POTTER - Senior Landon Gasseling scored four touchdowns and accounted for more than 200 total yards as Potter-Dix cruised to a 51-0 win over South Platte on Thursday night at Combs Field.
The Coyotes’ offense rolled up 416 yards while the defense held South Platte to just 122 total yards in the dominant victory. Gasseling ran for 142 yards and two scores on eight carries, caught two touchdown passes, and added five touchbacks on kickoffs.
Sophomore quarterback Callen McConnell completed 9 of 12 passes for 194 yards and four touchdowns, connecting with Gasseling, Tyler McManigal and John Dhooge. He also caught a touchdown.
Kolby Labeau added a rushing touchdown and a sack, while R.J. Ramsey led the defense with 12 total tackles, including one sack and a fumble recovery. Potter-Dix forced three interceptions — two by Gasseling and one by Ramsey, and finished with nine tackles for loss.
South Platte managed 76 yards rushing and 46 through the air. Quarterback Ryker Olson threw for 34 yards but was intercepted twice.
Potter-Dix (5-3) awaits postseason play next week against an opponent to be announced by the Nebraska School Activities Association. The Blue Knights finish the season at 2-6.
