Sidney Dominates Chadron 38-14 to Finish 9-0

SIDNEY - The Sidney Red Raiders capped off another undefeated regular season in dominant fashion Friday night, defeating the Chadron Cardinals 38-14 to claim the Class C1-7 District title for the second straight year. Sidney finishes the regular season 9-0, while Chadron falls to 6-3.
It was a statement win for the Red Raiders, who piled up 489 yards of total offense—311 on the ground and 178 through the air—against a Cardinal defense that had been allowing just 86 rushing yards per game. Sidney’s defense was equally impressive, holding a Chadron team that had averaged 234 rushing yards per game to minus-2 yards on 18 carries.
Sidney set the tone early. After forcing a punt on Chadron’s opening possession, the Red Raiders needed just two plays to find the end zone. Quarterback Alek Doty broke free for a 56-yard touchdown run less than three minutes into the game, giving Sidney a lead it never relinquished.
The Red Raiders built a 25-7 advantage by halftime and stretched it to 38-7 early in the fourth quarter, putting the game out of reach.
Doty led the way with a big night both running and passing, rushing for 157 yards on 16 carries while completing 11 of 21 passes for 178 yards and three touchdowns. Running back Rhys Dorcey added 154 yards on 28 carries, providing balance to the offensive attack.
Tight end Keian Kaiser was Doty’s top target, hauling in five receptions for 92 yards and two touchdowns.
With the win, Sidney secured back-to-back undefeated regular seasons and another district championship—extending an incredible run that now includes a 29-3 record since the start of the 2023 campaign.
