STUART - The Stuart Broncos are heading back to the D6 football semifinals for the second straight year after forcing five turnovers and holding off Leyton in a 31-25 quarterfinal victory Friday afternoon.

Senior quarterback Kayde Ramm led the charge for Stuart, completing 10 of 14 passes for 133 yards and two touchdowns while rushing 14 times for 55 yards, totaling 168 yards of offense.

Senior Drew Schmaderer was Ramm’s top target, hauling in five catches for 66 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 31 rushing yards and an interception on defense to help seal the win.

Stuart’s defense came up big throughout the game, forcing five turnovers to swing the momentum. Offensively, the Broncos finished with 246 total yards—133 on the ground and 113 through the air on an efficient 10-for-14 passing performance.

Leyton senior Alec Watchorn put on a standout performance in his final game, rushing 15 times for 105 yards, completing all 8 of his passes for 73 yards, and catching two passes for 23 yards. He accounted for 201 total yards and three of the Warriors’ four touchdowns.

Junior Austin Beutler added 68 passing yards, completing 8 of 13 attempts. Leyton finished the game with 253 yards of total offense—150 through the air and 103 on the ground.

Stuart improves to 9-1 and will face undefeated Garden County (10-0) in the D6 semifinals next Friday in Oshkosh. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. MST. Leyton’s season comes to a close in the quarterfinals with a final record of 8-2.
