Garden County advances to first state football championship

OSHKOSH — Top-seeded Garden County earned its first trip to the NSAA State Football Championship with a 44-28 win over fourth-seeded Stuart in the Class D6 semifinals Friday evening.
The Eagles (11-0) totaled 413 yards of offense, including 322 rushing, and scored six touchdowns in the victory.
Senior Wilsie Lobner led the way with 171 total yards, rushing 15 times for 128 yards and adding 43 receiving yards on three catches. He also scored a rushing touchdown.
Junior quarterback Kole Fornander finished with 120 rushing yards on 11 carries and went 5-for-7 passing for 91 yards. He accounted for four touchdowns.
Senior Kyan Kramer added 71 rushing yards on 12 carries and caught three passes for 48 yards. He scored twice.
Stuart quarterback Kayde Ramm completed 13 of 24 passes for 196 yards and rushed for 17 yards, finishing with 213 total yards and two touchdowns. Senior Atwood Albrecht caught seven passes for 82 yards. The Broncos (9-2) finished with 270 total yards.
Garden County advances to face third-seeded Southwest in the Class D6 state championship next Friday at 6 p.m. MT at the University of Nebraska-Kearny in Kearney on 987 The Big Boy and News Channel Nebraska TV. Southwest defeated second-seeded Red Cloud 35-0 in the other semifinal
