Arrest warrant issued for Kearney woman accused of assaulting a baby

KEARNEY, Neb.— Police are searching for a local woman who is accused of assaulting a 14-month-old baby.
The alleged event occurred on Wednesday in Kearney. Police issued an arrest warrant for 33-year-old Yanmei Huang on Thursday for first-degree assault, use of a deadly weapon and child abuse resulting in bodily injury. She is charged with using scissors to cause bodily harm to a child.
All three counts carry a maximum of 50 years imprisonment and are class II felonies.
Huang was arrested in 2022 in Kearney for third-degree domestic assault against her husband, which was later amended to disturbing the peace, to which she was found guilty and was sentenced to a year of probation.
In that case, Huang's Husband wrote to the court asking that the no-contact order be dropped because Huang has psychosis.
