SIDNEY, Neb. — Authorities have confirmed that the body of a Sidney woman who was reported missing last week has been found, according to the Sidney Police Department.

Police said the body of 51-year-old Kara L. Bancroft-Westman was discovered at approximately 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 25. Bancroft-Westman had been reported missing Saturday and was considered an at-risk adult due to medical concerns.

The Sidney Police Department and the Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office said they are conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death. The investigation remains active, and no additional details are being released at this time.

Law enforcement officials asked the public to respect the privacy of Bancroft-Westman’s family as the investigation continues.
