Crawford claims team title at Morrill wrestling quad
MORRILL, Neb. — Crawford captured first place at the Morrill Wrestling Quad on Thursday, finishing 3-0 in dual action to secure the team championship.
Crawford opened the night with a 36-24 victory over Bayard before rolling past host Morrill 48-6. The Rams then sealed the title with a 48-24 win over Hemingford in the final round.
Hemingford finished second after defeating Morrill 42-6 and edging Bayard 30-27 in a closely contested dual. Bayard placed third with a 30-12 win over Morrill to close the quad, while Morrill finished fourth.
Bayard’s Coy Armstrong and Nolan Dueker both picked up multiple wins on the night, with Armstrong earning a fall over Crawford’s Fayt Anderson at 150 pounds and Dueker recording victories by forfeit and decision across the quad. Jared Perkins also contributed key points for Bayard, earning falls at 190 pounds against both Crawford and Hemingford opponents.
