Icy roads cause single-vehicle crash in Merrick County
A driver suffered minor injuries after losing control of a vehicle on icy roads in central Nebraska over the weekend.

MERRICK COUNTY, Neb. — A driver suffered minor injuries after losing control of a vehicle on icy roads in central Nebraska over the weekend.
According to the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office, the vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 39 south of Silver Creek when it slid off the roadway, entered a ditch, struck a telephone pole and came to rest in a pond.
The driver was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Silver Creek Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
