Scottsbluff defeats Sidney in home wrestling dual

Scottsbluff dominated the mat Thursday night, using multiple pins and technical falls to defeat Sidney 64-15 in a wrestling dual at Scottsbluff.

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — Scottsbluff controlled the majority of the matches Thursday night, earning a 64-15 victory over Sidney in a wrestling dual on Feb. 5.


The Bearcats opened the night with a fall from Oscar Brown at 113. Brown pinned Bentley Gilbert in 3 minutes, 1 second to give Scottsbluff early momentum.


Sidney got on the board at 126 pounds, where Kaine Hill recorded a major decision over Holdyn Quick, 16-7. Scottsbluff quickly answered with three consecutive pins from Kellan Zulkoski (132), Carson Lucius (138) and Alyck Rodriguez (144).


Touny Hrasky-Brown added a technical fall at 157 pounds. Mason Schmer followed with a pin at 175 to keep the Bearcats firmly in control.


Sidney's Ethan Hanes pinned Eroz Torres in just 22 seconds. The Red Raiders also earned a technical fall from Cayson Boltjes at 215 pounds.


Scottsbluff closed the dual with a technical fall by Daylon Adams at heavyweight, sealing the decisive win.


The Bearcats finished the dual with nine bonus-point victories, including five falls, three technical falls and four forfeits.
