Blizzard conditions are developing on U.S. Highway 385 north of Dalton.

Conditions are resulting in significant traffic delays. A southbound truck-trailer slide-off near the Morrill-Cheyenne County line has reduced travel to a single lane.

The road remains open. Traffic is led by officials.

Dalton Volunteer Fire Department, Nebraska State Patrol, Cheyenne and Morrill County Sheriff’s deputies are responding. Wet snow is being cleared by Nebraska Department of Transportation trucks.

Officials of the Morrill County Sheriff’s Office reported blizzard-like conditions with low visibility. Roads are also getting slick, according to Department staff.

Blizzard conditions start at about mile marker 58 on Highway 385, about six miles north of Dalton.

The National Weather Service in Cheyenne, Wyo., issued a Winter Weather Advisory until midnight affecting Box Butte, Cheyenne and Morrill counties. Additional snow accumulations could reach one to three inches with 40 mph winds. Officials also caution of roads, bridges and overpasses that will likely be slushy and slick. Temperatures will drop quickly after sunset which will lead to refreezing of slush and water on roadways Saturday morning.
