Valentine newspaper announces new owners

Kyle and Kurt Arganbright will be the co-publishers of Midland News following the sale of the paper by its previous owners.

VALENTINE, Neb. - The Valentine newspaper has officially announced its new owners. Kyle and Kurt Arganbright will be the co-publishers of Midland News following the sale of the paper by its previous owners.

The Arganbright brothers say that one of their top priorities is to ensure that every voice can be heard. Among their immediate plans are introducing color pages to the publication and launching a more user-friendly website this spring.

“Since 1883, Valentine has had a newspaper. Before paved roads, before running water, before Valentine was officially Valentine, the newspaper has always been a vital part of our community,” Midland News wrote in a Facebook post. “Newspapers document local opinions, stories, and moments that define us. Newspapers have captured history.  As we turn the page to this new chapter, we are committed to continuing that tradition while exploring new opportunities to serve our readers and strengthen our community connections.”

The paper’s team will include Laura Vroman as editor, with Cindy Williams handling advertising and production.
