VALENTINE, Neb. — The Valentine Police Department reported three arrests during the week of Aug. 10–16, along with 28 total calls for service.
On Aug. 10, officers responded to a motor vehicle accident in the 500 block of West Third Street. One of the drivers, a 25-year-old Nebraska man, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
Three days later, on Aug. 13, officers were called to a disturbance in a motel parking lot along Highway 20. A 22-year-old South Dakota man was arrested on charges of misdemeanor domestic assault and resisting arrest.
On Aug. 16, police received a report from Cherry County Hospital after an emergency room patient said they had been assaulted. Following interviews with the victim and witnesses, officers arrested a 52-year-old South Dakota woman on charges of second-degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
In addition to the arrests, officers responded to eight traffic stops, two non-injury accidents, two animal complaints and one welfare check.
