Sidney police arrest man on drug charges after Tuesday morning search warrant

Sidney police executed their third warrant in five days Tuesday morning, arresting a man on drug charges near 11th and King.

SIDNEY, Neb. - An early morning search warrant led to one arrest Tuesday as Sidney police executed their third successful warrant operation in five days.

The Sidney Police Department said officers served the warrant at approximately 8:18 a.m. near the intersection of 11th Avenue and King Street. John W. Guhl, 41, was taken into custody on charges of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. His parole was also suspended, and he was booked into the Cheyenne County Jail.

The department said the operation was the result of ongoing investigative work by officers, noting that three warrants have been executed since Friday.

The investigation remains active.
