POTTER --  The Potter Historical Foundation and Potter Lion’s Club are proud to announce the successful completion of critical flooring and lane restoration at the Potter Duckpin Bowling Alley, funded partially through a donation from the Sidney And Greater Area (SAGA) Fund.

“This project represents what is possible when rural communities and philanthropy come together. “We are proud to support the restoration of this historic treasure and ensure it continues to bring joy, visitors, and economic activity to the Potter area,” said of the SAGA Fund Advisory Committee Chairperson Melissa Norgard.

This historic volunteer-run attraction, the westernmost operating duckpin alley in the United States is now fully restored. The completed project ensures the long-term preservation and safe operation of one of Nebraska’s most unique recreational and cultural assets.

Thanks to SAGA’s support, extensive repair and refinishing work has been finished. The project included the removal of deteriorated hardwood flooring on the landing, with salvage of original materials for lane repair, installation of new maple hardwood flooring on the landing, repair of damaged subflooring and lane-front hardwood and full sanding and refinishing of lanes and landing.

These repairs addressed significant structural issues and have returned the alley to excellent condition, ensuring it can continue operating on a volunteer-on-call basis and support community events, travelers, and local families.
