KILGORE, Neb. — The Cody-Kilgore Unified Schools school board is set to discuss the future of the former elementary school building in Kilgore after students and staff moved into a new pre-K through fifth-grade facility in Cody this school year.
At Monday’s meeting, board members are expected to consider how to sell the old building and the property it sits on.
The district had long weighed the need for a new school. Voters approved a $3 million bond last year, and the community contributed additional funding to help make the new facility possible.
As News Channel Nebraska previously reported, the former school building faced several problems, including small classrooms, deteriorating ceilings and heating issues.
Monday’s school board meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Mountain Time in the school’s FACS room
