HOUSTON – A biogenic polypropylene company planning to establish its first commercial manufacturing facility near Falls City announced an agreement Wednesday for marketing and distribution of half of its planned production capacity.

The Falls City EDGE website says the biochemical company’s $7.5 billion investment is projected to be the largest in Nebraska history. The project at the Mid-America Rail Campus is part of the Nebraska BioEconomy Initiative supported by Gov. Jim Pillen.

Citroniq plans to transform ethanol into polypropylene, a thermoplastic used for consumer packaging, auto parts, medical devices and various other durable products.

Under an agreement with Premier Product Marketing, Citroniq’s sustainable polypropylene solution will be marketed on a global scale.
