SIDNEY - Old Man Winter refuses to release his grip from the Sidney area.

The National Weather Service office in Cheyenne placed Cheyenne, Kimball, Deuel and Garden Counties in a winter weather advisory at 2 p.m. Sunday. The advisory, which also includes east Laramie County in Wyoming, northeast Colorado and southwest Nebraska, is in effect from midnight to 6 p.m. Monday.

A 36-hour snowfall projection map from News Channel Nebraska's weather partners at the WeatherEye Weather Center predicts Sidney will receive 3.64 inches, Harrisburg could get 3.15 inches, and 3.1 inches in Sterling and Lewellen. Pine Bluffs could end up with 4.21 inches of snow.

The NWS says to plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes on Monday.

The next unsettled weather pattern in the southern Nebraska Panhandle comes after the region received up to 10 inches of snow near Chappell, Grant, and Imperial.
