Zoom meetings first and third Tuesday of each month

PANHANDLE -- Panhandle Public Health District is facilitating "Suicide Loss Support Groups" for ages 19 and older.

The meetings are scheduled for 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Mountain Time.

Liz MacDonald, Community Prevention Coordinator for Panhandle Public Health District announced recently the meetings start November 21.

The support group facilitators know the pain of suicide. They have lost someone to suicide, and understand the complexity of losing a loved-one to suicide.

New members are welcomed. Even when everyone in the group shares certain things in common, there will always be diversity. Sometimes the most profound support comes from the most unexpected sources.

These groups will be held virtually the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month and are open to anyone in the panhandle who has experienced a loss due to suicide. In the near future, there will also be in-person groups in Alliance and Scottsbluff. PPHD hopes to have in-person groups in all of the areas of the panhandle -- as funding, facilitators, and demand allows.
