MALVERN, IA - Fremont-Mills and East Mills, IA, split a lopsided basketball doubleheader on Tuesday night, as heard on B103. The Fremont-Mills GBB team took the opener, 54-13, while East Mills dominated the boys' contest, 72-22.

The girls' contest saw Fremont-Mills jump out to a 34-5 lead at the break, never looking back. The Knights were led by a pair of sophomores with Ella Thornton hitting for a game-high twelve points & Reese Gute dropping in eleven. The Wolverines got five points from Trenity Williams, but the team turned the ball over 31 times and shot just 20% overall. East Mills dropped to 2-3 this season, while Fremont-Mills improved to 4-0.

In the guys' game, East Mills shut out Fremont-Mills in the fourth quarter after already holding a big lead. The Wolverines got 24 points from Layne Mastin, 20 from Jackson Embree, and another ten from Lincoln Palmer. Caleb Brandt led the Knights with ten. Fremont-Mills fell to 2-2 this season, while East Mills moved to 3-0.

Next on the schedule for Fremont-Mills is a trip to East Atchison on Thursday, December 7, while East Mills hosts Stanton on Friday, December 8.
