Firefighters positions for structure protection near Peru

PERU – Firefighters are battling a grass fire that appears to have started south of Peru boat dock along the Missouri River.

Nemaha firefighters were called for mutual aid at 2:18 p.m. north of the boat dock road at Peru.

There were three units dispatched using 732 Road and taking the Steamboat Trace Trail north.

3 p.m. – Auburn fire was called for mutual aid for a 646A Avenue residence for structure protection.

3:17 – Brock Julian Fire Department called for mutual aid.

Grass rigs and a tanker were also requested from Nebraska City.
