Barnard announces commitment to Creighton, after one year with Shockers

Beatrice native Avery Barnard is set to return to her home state.

BEATRICE, NEB. - Beatrice native Avery Barnard is set to return to her home state.

After one year at Wichita State, Barnard announced her commitment to Creighton on social media. In her freshman year as a Shocker, Barnard started two games and scored seven runs. Avery played her freshman year with her older sister Addie, who led Wichita State and the AAC in several all-time offensive categories. 

In her senior year of high school with the Beatrice Lady Orange, Avery hit .597 for her career with an OPS of 1.500, OBP of .655 and recorded 17 stolen bases.
