Weapon violations, sexual assault in Valentine Police report

During the week of July 7-13, Valentine Police responded to 84 calls for service and made several arrests, including for weapon law violations and sexual assault.

VALENTINE, Neb. – During the week of July 7-13, Valentine Police responded to 84 calls for service and made several arrests, including for weapon law violations and sexual assault.

On July 7, five men from Colorado were arrested for weapon law violations after a traffic stop on East Highway 20.

In the early hours of July 9, officers responded to a report of sexual assault. A 31-year-old Valentine man was arrested for sexual assault and strangulation.

On July 12, a 24-year-old Valentine woman was arrested for assault following an incident on Candice Street.

Other notable incidents and arrests include:

  • July 7: A shoplifting incident on East Highway 20 involving a juvenile suspect.

  • July 13: A South Dakota man was arrested on North Main Street on an active warrant.

Additional calls included reports of suspicious persons, accidents, animal control issues, disturbances, and code violations.
