Man killed in fiery crash near Rushville

A 25-year-old man died in a fiery crash north of Rushville, Nebraska on Saturday.

RUSHVILLE, Neb. - A 25-year-old man died in a fiery crash north of Rushville, Nebraska on Saturday. Sheridan County Sheriff Jeff Brewer said that the SUV rolled several times and caught on fire. Brewer said that the crash is difficult to investigate because of the fire.

Yesterday News Channel Nebraska reported that the Nebraska Department of Transportation issued an urgent alert following a spike in deadly crashes. Nineteen people died traveling on roads in the state throughout June. The victims included four motorcyclists, two pedestrians, one ATV rider, and one bicyclist.

Of those who were killed inside a vehicle, only half of them were wearing seatbelts.
