Valentine firefighters called back to scene of Thursday fire

According to Cherry County Emergency Manager, trees in the area are again smoldering near mile marker 11 along Highway 12.

VALENTINE, Neb. - Valentine volunteer firefighters were called back to the site of last week’s West Berry Bridge Fire on Monday afternoon. According to Cherry County Emergency Manager Jessica Coyle, trees in the area are again smoldering near mile marker 11 along Highway 12. Two fire trucks and a tanker have been deployed to control the flare-up.

As News Channel Nebraska previously reported, lightning caused two fires last week east of Valentine, including the West Berry Bridge Fire.
