VALENTINE, Neb. – Instead of "Netflix and Chill," you could soon watch the Cherry County Board of Commissioners from the comfort of your couch with a bag of popcorn. During Tuesday’s meeting, the commissioners discussed the possibility of streaming their sessions, asking Emergency Management Director Jessica Coyle to explore the options.

The move comes after a resident had questioned the commissioners on the issue at a previous meeting. She said that a couple of the commissioners had campaigned on it.

“When you campaign on something, you should do that,” she said. “You should do this not only for the constituents, the taxpayers, but also for yourselves, so you can go back and review conversations.”

Coyle informed the board that meetings could be streamed at no additional cost through Applied Connective.

“We can use the current drive and keep a year’s worth of meetings. If we do need additional space, they said the cost would be minimal,” said Coyle.

She also suggested using Microsoft Teams, which the county already has access to, as another streaming option.
