VALENTINE, Neb. – Travelers flying into Miller Field in Valentine could soon have rental cars available on-site. The city council is considering a lease and airport use agreement with Brown Investments, Inc., operating as Thrifty Car Rental and Sales, to bring this service to the airport.

As News Channel Nebraska has previously reported, air traffic into and out of Valentine has seen a significant rise over the past decade.

“We have two world-class golf courses just south of town not too far and a third that’s a little farther south by Mullen. We have doctors who fly in to do specialties, along with basic tourism and hunters,” said Valentine Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Jenny Moore.

The new airport agreement calls for the City renting space in the lobby of the airport administrative building for a car rental concession counter, along with an area in the parking lot for vehicle parking stalls and rental car storage.

Brown Investments would pay the City $375 per month for the lease, with the contract running from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.
