South Dakota woman arrested in Valentine for drugs, active warrant

A 35-year-old South Dakota woman was arrested in Valentine for an active Cherry County warrant and possession of a controlled substance.

VALENTINE, Neb. - A 35-year-old South Dakota woman was arrested in Valentine for an active Cherry County warrant and possession of a controlled substance. Valentine Police say Amanda Roubideaux was found with methamphetamine and marijuana after officers stopped the vehicle she was in around 8 p.m. on Oct. 9.

Incidents:

On 10/09/2024 at 12:25 am, an officer conducted a traffic stop near B and Western Streets.  A 29 year old South Dakota man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

On 10/09/2024 at 1:14 pm, officers responded to the 100 block of west 2nd Street for a report of an assault.  All investigative reports have been forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney for review.

Calls:

On 10/06/2024 at 5:01 pm, a dog was running at large in the 400 block of east highway 20.

On 10/06/2024 at 6:26 pm, an unattended fire pit complaint was received.

On 10/07/2024 at 11:57 am, a trespasser was reported in the 300 block of west highway 20.

On 10/07/2024 at 2:43 pm, a dog was running at large in the 600 block of north Valentine Street.

On 10/08/2024 at 10:41 am, a dog was running at large in the 200 block of south Wood Street.

On 10/09/2024 at 9:25 am, a missing person was reported from the 200 block of east highway 20.

On 10/09/2024 at 4:46 pm, a bike was reported stolen from the 200 block of west 8th Street.  The bike was described as a TREK dark colored bike with yellow and teal highlights.

 On 10/09/2024 at 11:15 pm, a disturbance occurred in the 1000 block of east 9th Street.

On 10/10/2024 at 11:19 am, a dog was running at large in the 500 block of north Ray Street.

On 10/10/2024 at 5:00 pm, a suspicious person was reported in the 400 block of north Main Street.

On 10/10/2024 at 8:20 pm, a possible propane leak was reported in the 100 block of north Hall Street.  No leaks or odor was located.

Officers responded to 93 calls for service this week.
