GORDON, Neb. - The Gordon Police Department is asking for the public’s help in investigating a string of burglaries.

According to police, several vehicles were broken into overnight likely between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Feb. 24-25. In addition to the break-ins, an ATV and a white truck were stolen. Police Chief Clay Heath said the ATV was later found at the city park, and the truck was located in Wounded Knee.

Authorities are also looking into a separate home burglary reported on Feb. 28.

Residents with security cameras are encouraged to review footage from those nights and report anything unusual to the Gordon Police Department at 308-282-0308.

As a reminder, police urge residents to lock their vehicles and secure their belongings. In a Facebook post, the department wrote, “We do our best to keep Gordon as safe as possible, but there will always be those that do not respect others and will take things that do not belong to them. Don't let it be you.”
