West Point Tops Auburn in Round Two of State Legion Baseball Tournament

AUBURN, NE - West Point Post 70 secured a victory over the First National Bank Auburn Post 23 squad with a 4-2 finish in the 2025 Nebraska American Legion Class B Senior American Division State Tournament on Sunday.
West Point was powered by the efforts of Cody Haas, who hit a 318-foot home run to left field in the second inning, plating two runs to give West Point a 3-1 lead. Logan Rolf hit a 326-foot bomb over the left field wall in the fifth to add an insurance run. Rolf secured the win after pitching four and a third innings, while Myles Dinslage worked in relief in the following two and two thirds innings of work.
Auburn started five of the seven innings of the game with a lead off runner reaching base. Corbyn Jakub drew two walks and scored once. Landon Casey went three for three with an RBI and a stolen base. Mason Schultz pitched the entire game, throwing 85 pitches and being tacked with the loss.
West Point will face the other undefeated team of Hickman at 7 p.m. on Monday night. Auburn moves into the loser’s bracket and will face Springfield before that game in the 4 p.m. time slot. Tune into B103 on Monday night to see if Auburn can continue their season.
