GORDON, Neb. - The largest supplier of grass-fed and organic beef has acquired a beef processor in Gordon, Nebraska. American Farmers Network says after the acquisition of Open Range Beef, the business now employs more than 500 team members across two U.S. processing locations.

"This acquisition deepens our capacity, extends our reach, and most importantly, cements AFN's position as the clear category leader in domestic grass-fed and organic beef. Our partners can plan confidently, knowing they have year-round, stateside processing at a meaningful scale,” said Sanin Mirvic, Founder & Chairman of American Farmers Network.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Open Range Beef is a USDA-certified processor specializing in grass-fed, organic and natural programs that serve premium retailers, foodservice distributors and export markets. In 2017, High Street Capital, a private equity firm, acquired a controlling interest in Open Range Beef.
