Gordon principal receives award for excellence

A Gordon principal is being recognized for being an outstanding leader in Nebraska.

GORDON, Neb.— A Gordon principal is being recognized for being an outstanding leader in Nebraska.

The principal of Gordon Elementary, Robin Johnson, has received the LIGHTS Outstanding Principal Award this year.

The LIGHTS award is for Leaders Igniting Growth and Helping Transform Schools in Nebraska from the Lozier Foundation.

The foundation says Johnson has boosted morale in the school, implemented structure, and elevated achievements for Gordon Elementary.

The award comes with $25,000 for the school and $10,000 for Johnson.

Principals in K-5 with a minimum of 51% free and reduced lunch are eligible for the award.
