LINCOLN, Neb. — Sidney native Karsyn Leeling delivered a strong performance for the University of Nebraska women’s track and field team Saturday, placing second in the high jump at the Mark Colligan Memorial in Lincoln.

Leeling cleared 1.80 meters (5 feet, 10¾ inches) to finish runner-up. Teammate Ela Velepec won the high jump with a personal-best mark of 1.86 meters. The points contributed by Leeling and Velepec played a key role in Nebraska’s overall team success.

The Husker men captured the team title with 159 points, while the women finished second overall with 150 points at the meet.

Nebraska will return to competition next weekend at the DeLoss Dodds Invitational in Manhattan, Kansas, on Jan. 30–31.
