GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- Kids in central Nebraska appear happy after getting a visit from a prominent Mexican-Argentinian soccer player.

This past weekend, Chaco Gimenez, visited Grand Island. He played for several La Liga MX teams such as America, Pachuca and Cruz Azul.

As a player Gimenez won championships in Mexico and internationally including Mexican Primera Division, Copa Sudamerican, Copa Libertadores and more.

He was also awarded the Mexican Primera Division Golden Ball in 2009 and Mexican Primera Division Best Attacking midfielder in 2009 and 2010.

He also acquired Mexican citizenship, which allowed him to play for the Mexican national team.

Eagles Football Club invited him to give a soccer clinic. The club was established last year with the aim of training, developing and educating children in soccer. The club has currently 125 children between the ages of 6 and 14 years old.

The clinics took place Friday, Saturday and Sunday and around 30 kids attended them.
