VALENTINE, Neb. — A local businesswoman will be the next person to lead the Valentine Chamber of Commerce.

The chamber announced Monday that Jenny Moore will be its new executive director. She takes over for Dean Jacob, who resigned late last year.

Moore boasts an extensive background in business. According to a news release, she worked as a cosmetologist for more than 20 years, has farmed since 2006 and co-owned L&V Innovations from 2008-19. At L&V she handled marketing, bookkeeping, farm shows, and assisted in manufacturing after-market irrigation products. She is currently a partner owner in Just 4 You, a party planning and landscape design business.

“I have a passion for youth activities and a strong desire to encourage young adults to return to Valentine to raise their families and possibly own and operate their own businesses in the area,” Moore said in a statement.

The release says Moore is involved in the community as a youth sports coach, as president-elect of the Valentine chapter of Rotary and as a fundraising committee member of the Sandhills Area Foundation.

“It is my honor to be given the opportunity to work with the Valentine Chamber of Commerce,” Moore said. “The dedication of our board is inspiring, and I look forward to all we will accomplish together.”

Moore lists her initial goals as assisting the board in updating business information in the Chamber’s records and making personal visits with the current membership. Monday was her first day.
