VALENTINE, Neb. - A special Cherry County Board of Commissioners meeting focused on a wind farm has been cancelled. The commission was planning to meet Oct. 15 about requirements of a zoning resolution presented by BSH Kilgore. As News Channel Nebraska previously reported, BSH Kilgore plans to build a wind farm near Kilgore. However, opponents argue that the project’s conditional use permit, issued in 2019, is about to expire without construction having started.

On Thursday the Cherry County clerk announced that the meeting has been cancelled due to Open Meetings Act requirements.
