VALENTINE, Neb. - You will soon have a chance to sit down with local conservation officers in a casual setting.

Coffee with a Conservation Officer is set for Saturday, Oct. 4, from 8 to 10 a.m. at Tooth and Whisker Outdoors in Valentine. The event gives community members an opportunity to ask questions, share concerns and get to know the officers who serve the area.

Most interactions between law enforcement and the public happen during emergencies or other stressful situations, which aren’t always the best times for building relationships. Events like this aim to change that by providing a relaxed, agenda-free space for conversation.

Anyone with questions can contact Conservation Officer Dana Miller at 531-229-4404.
