LINCOLN, Neb. — Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers has filed for re-election.

Hilgers, elected in 2022 as the state’s 33rd attorney general, said he is seeking another term to continue defending what he calls Nebraskans’ constitutional rights.

In a statement, Hilgers pointed to legal challenges against federal policies, actions involving energy and water regulations, trucking industry rules, election security, and concerns related to China as key priorities of his office.

Before becoming attorney general, Hilgers served six years in the Nebraska Legislature, including as speaker of the 107th Legislature.
